Producer and screenwriter Joseph Walsh, best known for his 1974 movie "California Split", is in the works of writing a book titled "Gambler on the Loose". Walsh says that he plans to turn it into a screenplay, and it the book he describes his life in the world of show business and gambling.

A popular star on television and Broadway, Walsh began betting on sports at age 17. In one unforgettable scene from "California Split", he and Elliot Gould turned $150 into thousands by placing wagers on football. They decided to celebrate with a trip to Miami using the winnings they earned. Their hot streak however ended at the dog track, when they couldn't even pick a dog that Walsh said wasn't "even remotely interested in the rabbit." HAHA.
